About the Project
The newest addition to the 129-year-old campus, an essential component of the University’s mission to transform liberal education and a cornerstone for the Main South neighborhood. President David Angel said the building is the culmination of a 30-year process that, symbolically and physically, signals Clark’s commitment “to reach beyond the classroom, beyond the campus, beyond the neighborhood, and out into the country and the world.” Located across Main Street just across from the Clark gate, the four-story, 36,000-square-foot building now stands ready to welcome students who will arrive on campus at the end of the month. The Shaich Family Alumni and Student Engagement Center boasts a full roof solar array that supplies up to 50 percent of the building’s energy needs. An application will be made to the U.S. Green Building Council that the building be considered for LEED Platinum or Gold certification. EM Series chain actuators are used throughout the building for natural ventilation.
